Lifetime Guarantee
Hand tools marked Lifetime Guarantee on their product page are covered against faults in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the product.
What’s covered
- Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship
- Breakage caused by a manufacturing fault during normal, correct use
- Products marked “Lifetime Guarantee” on their product page. Any other products carry the manufacturer’s standard warranty, which is shown on their product page.
If your tool develops a fault that’s covered, we’ll get it repaired or replace it.
What’s not covered
- Normal wear and tear. Tools that have simply worn out through use, such as worn ratchet mechanisms, rounded jaws or worn tips.
- Misuse or abuse. Using a tool for a job it wasn’t designed for, for example using a spanner as a hammer, adding extension bars to ratchets, or striking tools not designed to be struck.
- Modified tools. Any tool that has been ground, welded, heated, bent or otherwise altered.
- Ignoring instructions. Faults caused by not following the manufacturer’s instructions or usage guidance.
- Consumables. Screwdriver bits, drill bits, blades and other items designed to wear out in use.
- Insulated (VDE) tools. These carry the manufacturer’s standard warranty instead.
- Cosmetic issues. Marks, scratches or discolouration that don’t affect how the tool works.
What “lifetime” means
“Lifetime” means the lifetime of the product, not the lifetime of the owner. If a product is discontinued, we’ll continue to support it for two years. Where a direct replacement isn’t available, we’ll offer the nearest equivalent.
How to make a claim
- Contact us at sales@grease-ape.com
- Include your order number or receipt, a short description of the fault, and a photo of the tool.
- We’ll confirm whether the tool is covered. We may ask you to return it for inspection. You are responsible for getting the product back to us.
Proof of purchase is required for all claims, so please keep your receipt or order confirmation. Claims without proof of purchase can’t be processed.
(we can usually find this information on our system, if you can’t find proof of purchase.)
Your statutory rights
